This past week I had the pleasure of watching the completion of a mural project I had been organizing and planning for the past few months. The Toronto artist, BirdO, traveled to Baltimore (his first trip to Baltimore, Maryland!) to gift our wonderful city with this beautiful mural. BirdO and I planned together to give this as a gift to the family and community. He donated all paints and his time & travel and I raised money through "Gofundme" to rent a scissor lift, pay for fuel, delivery/pickup, taxes, & various things that ended up being needed for the project. I truly enjoyed meeting BirdO and enjoying time with him! Thank you to the Green family, specifically Mrs. Annie Green for having us paint a mural on your home with your favorite flowers and colors!! I hope you and your family enjoy!! I will remember this week especially Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 when Councilman Welsh, the mayor's office, and the Sun paper all stopped by to recognize & dedicate this mural. I believe they named this piece, the Mural of Hope, and that is what I hope it can bring to Baltimore! Please stop by the corner of N. Pulaski St. and W. Franklin St. to see the mural!! Please check out the rest of BirdO's work on Instagram @jerry.rugg and also my instagram page where I share photos and locations of the murals located around Baltimore City @baltimurals on Instagram as well. Thank you to all who donated towards this project and to all those who supported me, especially my parents!!
